Its possible, but there are no plans currently.
Please know that the output level on the car sub should be loud enough for most listeners inside the cabin. Our car sub wasn't really designed to win competitions with its output or be heard four blocks away, but if we wanted to we probably could make something to do that. Right now we are aiming at a balanced design that is designed for sound quality as well as output.
It is important to know that the excursion is just as important to SPL as the size of the woofer, because SPL is about moving lots of air. The ASW1203 has a much bigger excursion than the ASW1202 at 20 mm each way. That means it has the potential to get louder than other 12 inch subwoofers with less excursion and similar cone area, including the ASW1202 which went to about 123 dB at 12.5 Hz in Tom Nousainne's car. Importantly, we have done some things to keep the sound quality high while maintaining a high excursion. One such design is that the rubber surround does not buckle or crease during the big excursions. Such buckles can causes a multitude of problems by making the cone become off balanced. Take a look at many subwoofers that have high excursion, push the cone all the way in, and you will see these buckles. Not on the ASW1203. The rubber surround is built not to buckle under pressure  .

Sasha - Business wise I think it would be very profitable to produce such a woofer. That market is expending on a daily basis. Just look at the car manufacturers: You can puchase a car now with just about any ""aftermarket assesory"" right from the showroom. Why? Because it bring money in. Why not use that $$
that an ""SPL"" sub could bring in to develop dream products that otherwise may take alot longer to produce? You could sell sooooo many of those woofer. Every kid wants a sub that kicks ass! At HSU prices, I'd bet you would be running behind production.

Thanks for your input. The car subwoofer business is a very big and competitive area, with lots of money being made. A SPL sub that at Hsu prices would probably do real well. Our first priority is to make a balanced product that has good SQ as well SPL, since its easier to make a high SPL system than a SQ system, in my opinion.
