VTF-1 Fluttering

I just got my VTF-1 and attached it to my Denon 2809 from the Sub preout. Music sounds good, but alittle soft. But then HT sounds very soft or when it gets loud I hear fluttering coming out of the ports of the VTF-1. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I have tried changing the crossover, levels, etc... Any thoughts ???

Could you describe to me what settings you are using on the subwoofer amplifier (including how high the volume knob is, and whether or not you are using a port plug)? Also, what are the crossover and channel level settings at on the receiver? Finally, if you could give me your room dimensions (HxWxD, including that of open areas), and some idea of where you are placing the sub, that would be helpful.
