I currently own a M&K MX200 sub and I'm thinking of upgrading. Has anyone here owned this sub and later purchased the VTF-3? I would be curious if you think the VTF-3 stands up to the MX200.
I've been very happy with the MX, but feel it's time to upgrade to a better sub. I'm thinking of getting the Revel B-15, which is an excellent sub, but it's really pricey.
Would upgrading to the VTF-3 be a lateral move or a definite step up?
Any feedback is appreciated.
Take care,

I have heard the M&K. The VTF-3 will play louder and deeper than the MX-200.
The best advise is that at only $764.10 + shipping & handling of $60 you can actually trial the VTF-3 for yourself in your system for 30 days. Remember if you do not like it within 30 days you can return it for a full refund. Sure you loose the freight cost, but at least you will know 100% (at a cost of $60) just how good it is.
This is the best and most honest way to audition any new gear, because you have to remember that you have your very own indervidual room acoustics and your very own choice of other sound equipment.
This way you are not second guessing your acoustics by being in some stange dealers room with strange gear and where you are also under sales pressure to donate profit to the dealership. At least with Hsu all the manufacturing money is spent on the subwoofer not on giving dealers a bigger bank balance.
The Revel B15 is a good subwoofer from the few times that I have heard it in a Revel speaker system, but at the money they ask for it, you would expect nothing less. I guess I have never either; owned, been willing, or had enough free money, to donate to a Revel dealer. It is from my point view total guess work as to how these two subs would really compare, but I am more than happy with my VTF-3's performance, and best of all I have money in my account as a bonus over not donating to a Revel dealer.
I own both the VTF-2 and VTF-3 and IMO you can not go wrong with a HSU subwoofer. They are excellent performers that compete on equal (or better) standing with subs that cost twice the price or more. Funny part is with so many different people saying how good HSU subwoofers are (so consistantly), that we can even question performance or value seems to show how HSU has rapidly expanded its excellent reputation into mainstream audio circles. The more reviews they get in the mainstream magazines, the more people find out the excellent performance/value that dealer brands do not offer.
