I already own the HK 354 Reciever and I plan on buying the enthusiast 2 with a VTF-3 MK3 Sub. My question is there a better mid range reciever that I should upgrade to for this speaker pacakge. Everybody is saying get the onkyo reciever. I haven't heard the onkyo in action , but everybody says that the Harman Kardon reciever sounds better. Gives a better punch and clarity than the other reciever brands. Thats why I bought it.
Should I upgrade and use my current reciever for another room. Is there something better.
WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE DR. HSU ?

Hi,
The Harman Kardon receiver should work nicely with the Enthusiast 2 system. Nowadays, pretty much all of the entry level receivers are quite good, and will work well with our speakers/subwoofers.

Denon, Harman Kardon, Onkyo.... you pay for what you get is really true.
Pay extra for EQ options like Audssey, etc. But all these brands are good.
Outlaw and Integra have some advantage at being internet direct, but a good refurb Denon, onkyo, or harman kardon will drive any of the HSU speakers just fine.
Just do your homework on features and the average intenet price. You pay for what you get with recievers that are not in the absurd level (Cambridge Audio 840, Denon's flagship stuff, Krell, Etc).

The reciever oif my choice is "Pioneer". The new elites with the "ICE" amps have gotten excellent coverage from members of internet forums.
