i bought my hsu sub from ebay. i don't understand why you don't know where the seller got his supply. i registered, i think, the sub and it has a serial number. can't you track the serial number? and how it gets onto ebay?

i feel bad now b/c i'd have paid a little more to get it directly if i had known this.

Did you asked the seller if he was a authorized dealer? Did he buy it from a authorized dealer? Did you get his original receipt? Is there something wrong with the sub?

there's nothing wrong w/ the sub.

my question is directed more at Hsu as a company. i was puzzled w/ the comment that Hsu doesn't know where/how some sellers get their inventory. Hsu is such a small company, i would think inventory control would be relatively simple.

are they fake? are they b-stock? are they rejects from the factory? are they stolen?

clearly, my sub has a serial number. why isn't that used to track it's status? when i registered the sub, why am i not notified that it has no warranty?

anyway, not a big deal. just curious.

Contact Hsu with your serial number and ask them the queston directly. Rather than here do it via the toll free number 1-800-554-0150

At least it will help clear up the issue quickly and put your mind at ease. It might just be from a legitimate source. Because they track serial numbers Hsu can soon track down where it should have come from.

One possibility is that someone at Compusa used their employee disount to buy a sub and is reselling it for a profit. They can buy items at cost once a month - at least that is what one employee claimed.

I can't answer the question. However, out of curiosity, I looked at Ebay this morning. There were four listings for Hsu products. One was an STF-2, and I don't know much about that one. One appeared to be a Ventriloquist system, but actually turned out to be one of the Gateway packages. Two subs were from a Canadian seller.

Except for Hsu and a few authorized companies (like Acsend), its advisable to approach buying new Hsu products with questions, because as we know except for the STF-2/VT-12 almost no one except Hsu sells them. You would hate for warranty reasons to be buying any new gear that purposely fell of the back of the truck.

Its also quite rare to see many used Hsu subs for sale on the net.

Is CompUSA condidered an authorized dealer? I think they stopped selling HSU at CompUSA. I think the warranty would be valid wouldn't it?

I would have to believe the warranty is valid.Compusa was an authorized dealer when you bought it.
