When installing the rear center can you loop speaker wire once around the top post and once around the bottom post, then tighten the posts or do you have to have the wires ride along the inside or outside of the posts

It depends on the size of the wires and whether they are stranded or not. You'd probably have poor success with fat stranded wires.
