Hello everyone.

If I decide to purchase an HSU subwoofer I am trying to figure out between the two which would be a better choice for my environment. I have seen previous post with this question and the answer is usually to go with the more powerful sub. Most of the people who have asked this question have a much bigger area for their setup. Mine will be in the basement that is small, I have included an attachment with the dimensions. My ceiling height is eight feet and the floor will be carpet.

The sub will be used evenly between music, movies, and video games. I care more about quality of the overall sound of the bass as opposed to shaking the fillings out of my teeth. I am not a person who upgrades often, so what ever equipment I purchase I will keep until it no longer functions. Let me know what you think.

The Vtf2-mk3 is best for rooms up to 4500 cubic feet according to the chart on room size. The Vtf3-mk3 is best for rooms up to 6000 cubic feet. Even if your room was 16 x 24 with a 10 feet ceiling instead of the L shape it is you would be under 4500 cubic feet. I think you would be fine going with the Vtf2-mk3. You won't be disappointed with the sound quality.

The VTF2 Mk-3 should able to fill that space without any problem. Since you're only sitting within 10 feet of the sub, the VTF2.3 will have no problem keeping up once calibrated. With the sub currently on sale, the decision should be obvious.

Going with the bigger brother VTF-3 Mk-3 will give you a little more headroom allowing the sub to work less harder to fill that space, but there's minimal different regarding sound quality since both sub has the same driver.

If you feel the need to spend a little more for better justification of your purchase, how about getting a real wood veneer color VTF-2 Mark 3? That will add more aesthetics to your room.

SQ difference is not detectable between the two. The only real difference being capacity to fill a bigger room. The Vtf-2 unless your a bass freak is more than capable (in your room) of shaking your tail feathers and bring a new found enjoyment to your sound system.
