Hi,

The turbo can be made to fit a VTF-2 MK3, but one needs a spacer to prop it up a bit so that the turbo ports will fit. Also, the turbo will overhang by 1" on each side of the -2 MK3 cabinet.

Sincerely,

Is there any particular reason that you would want to buy a turbo unit? The new VTF-2 and VTF-3 Mk 3 series are quite efficient as is. There're not much output gain from adding a turbo to them, which is why Hsu discontinued the turbo unit. Now, the older HO series, that's a different story.

A lot has been said over the years (on this forum) about the fitment issues in a Turbo when used on the smaller port 12" VTF/STF models.

The key is the non slip mat and a spacer to get the right alignment.

I use turbo on my2.3,very easy to do and the low end is more robust.I also extended my ports by 6" with PVC pipe....I experimented with different lenghts until the boom was gone..........the turbo is great....bring it back!

I could certainly be wrong but the discontinuation of the Turbo seems to me to be part of the "new direction" that was announced not quite a year ago.

Appearance has taken on more importance, both with the size of the ULS-15 and the new wood veneer finishes.

Unless you like the "equipment look", (which not many wives are into), the Turbo was found to be unattractive to more than a few people including men. It is also moderately large, not something that people aren't going to notice.

Another "new direction" for HSU is the shift to sealed subs, and the sealed MBM-12.
