When I wanted to listen to some music the other day, I noticed that the deep bass I've come to love from my STF-2 was sorely missing. Sure enough, the sub wasn't on and no indication light was on either. It turned out that the fuse had blown.
A trip to local RadioShack scored me a bag of 4 brand new fuses, but as soon as I put a replacement fuse in, the indicator light turns on briefly and dies... the fuse had blown immediately. I tried this 3 times and all 3 new fuses were blown right away.
So I called Hsu tech support, and it appears that there may be something wrong inside the circuitry, i.e. bad capacitor, inductor, etc. Now I gotta ship the circuit board to Hsu. Unfortunately, the warranty on the electronics is only 2 years, and my STF2 is now about 2.5 years old...
Has any one else had similar problems?
Hopefully these are isolated instances and not representative of the quality of the sub (which doesn't appear to be the case). I hope that Hsu will be able to fix my beloved STF-2 and it won't cost too much money.
I will keep you all posted.
