I know that the shipping weight according to the web site is 57 lbs. I'm just wondering how much the subwoofer itself weighs.
(I'm asking because I purchased a used VTF-2, and the shipping weight according to ups is less than 57 lbs. Hopefully the details are wrong... otherwise, I probably got screwed.)

I ordered 2 VTF-2's from HSU and the shipping weight shows 54 lbs on the FedEx ticket, including the box and packing.

Forgive me for sounding daft, but do you mean each one was 54 pounds, or is that the combined weight for both?
The online info for my package is only 29 pounds. Now, I realize that could be inaccurate, but it'll be a nervous week for me waiting for the package to arrive.

Sorry to confuse you. That weight is for each unit. I ordered them a month apart.
Just now weighed the subwoofer by itself and it is 46 lbs. + or - 1 lb. not including the power cord or any other cord or manuals. Just the bare bones sub by itself....

I appreciate the response, and I'm happy to report that I didn't get screwed. The shipper created the packing slip himself and grossly underestimated the shipping weight.
Now I have a new question (for the Hsu team). :) How do I go about transferring what's left of the warranty into my name? I can't seem to find that info on the web site.
I'm extremely pleased with the VTF2. I put in my Blue Man Group Audio DVD for my first test drive. In the third tune, there's an instrument called the piano smasher. When that was struck, I couldn't help but giggle. My floor-standing front speakers did an admirable job handling what bass they could, but the sub really made an impact.

The warranty is transferable, but if the original owner bought it from a dealer than you should get a copy of the dealer's invoice to show when the warranty period began. A copy of the invoice should do it.
