Hey guys. The problem is my sub almost never wakes up from standby in auto mode (even if there is considerable low frequency noises) unless I flip the switch to ON or take the sub cable out and plug it back in to where it hummmmmmms when it goes back in and wakes up. The only possible answer I found while browsing these forums is to use a Y adapter to plug into the L and R channels on the sub, proving a +3db gain that will possibly wake him up faster. Any other ideas besides this hardware addition? thanks!

That ought to do it.. and it's a pretty cheap solution.

Another trick is to turn the sub volume knob down a little and increase the LFE channel level output at the receiver/amp/AVR. It's the increased signal level coming into the sub that wakes it up.

I was thinking along the same lines kmitchell, thanks. I may just throw in a Y-adapter for good measure on my next monoprice cables purchase as well.:)
