I'm in a situation where I live in a rarely large space/ that's not ideal.

My setup consist of a Rotel RSX-1550, B&W 600 series speakers and Hsu vtf3 mk2 sub.

The receiver doesn't have a fancy autosetup feature... It's all manual with an SPL meter + tape measure.

Would using velodynes SMS-1 auto setup for the sub plus the manual setup routine on the Rotel for my main speakerd be an effective solution to improve overall sound?

Hi wildpanda,

Could you share some measurements that you have taken with your SPL meter? It would be great to get an idea of what your response looks like without EQ.

An external EQ such as SMS-1, Antimode 8033, etc. can make a very nice improvement in sound quality...

Sincerely,
