Has the TN 1225 been discontinued? I just noticed it's not listed on your online store anymore. Is it just a matter of you having too many models or something? I always thought the smaller TN was a good idea, a bit cheaper than the 1220 and maybe a little easier to conceal.

FWIW and IMO the 1225 is the far more room friendly and a far less visually eye sore choice out of the two Tn series subwoofers. It also plays quite deep and very loud over its operational range. Both Tn's physically are exactely the same except the 1220 is 1/2 as tall again as the Tn1225. The driver is identical. The extra size gives its flat response to 20Hz compared to 25Hz.

I aways think the penalty for the extra 5Hz (20 vs 25) is not really worth it unless you are a pipe organ fanatic listener. The 1220 is just too tall and too top heavy for most people.

I take it the new variable port TN-X1 subwoofer will replace both current TN series by years end?

The TN-1225, the 25 Hz model, has been temporarily discontinued as we streamline the TN series. The 1220s have proven to be much more popular, and as the subwoofer's size decreases the advantages of a tube diminish.
