Congratulations to Hsu Research for the RAVE review in the latest issue (March, 2005) of Widescreen Review.
Some quotes:
"The Hsu Research Ventriloquist VT-12 system, with the STF-2 subwoofer, blows the concept of poor performance from an HTIB loudspeaker system clean out of the water"
"Hsu Research has hit a home run"
"I can't believe how big the system sounded" ...
Finally ... the closest thing to a complaint (IF you could call this a complaint):
"The full dynamic range of the presentation was a bit lackluster on pure music content... but you get a heck of a performance from a low cost system"
Congratulations ! :)

Congratulations to Hsu Research for the RAVE review in the latest issue (March, 2005) of Widescreen Review.
You may be able to get partial detailed (only the 1st 2 pages) review from below link in the sample of the issue.
Go to the below link, and click below the magazine picture in gif/jpg where it says "Click Here to View A sample Of this Issue", it will start a flash player in the browser, mine is Mozilla FireFox, you have then to scroll down to page 12 to get the HSU Ventriloquist review.

You may need to buy the magazine to get the last 2 pages or wait til it is posted in the review section.
Happy reading!

Thank you for posting this information, Craig! We are very thankful and gracious for the opportunity to get the VT speakers reviewed in print. We have always tried to make our products more and more affordable for the masses, and the Ventriloquist is a pefect representation of that philosophy. Most companies would not look first into designing a very low cost budget speaker, since there is less chance for profitability and recognition on the product. I believe it is refreshing to see something new in this arena.
Sincerely,

I have read the review in my issue that just arrived yesterday. I think that the reviewer, Jeffery Kern, did a very good job of reviewing the product. I am so glad to see such a positive review in such a high end magazine as Widescreen Review. The only problem is that the target audience for this system probably does not read this magazine. I found it very interesting that the only comparison made to other equipment is against thier very high performance reference theater.
That being said. I love the VT-12, I have set up 2 systems for friends and family, and will be getting a set soon for a bedroom HT.
Glad to see Dr. Hsu knock another one out of the park......

I read the review today at my local Barnes and Noble and it was very good. It is also very nice to see HSU getting some much deserved coverage in magazines!

Its a excellent review for a micro value speaker system. Widescreen Review tends to have the majority of its readership as industry members rather than J6P readers (target market of STF-2/VT-12 systems). Still a web site copy will no doubt appear in the review section so that J6P can read it.

ShockwaveFlash 7 already installed on IE and Firefox, re-installed again to no avail. Is the review un-cut/paste-able?

Lwang,
I could save the sample review. It is about 2 Megs. If you want just send me a PM to indicate where I can send this to you. But it is of type swf, so you may be able to right click and open the file locally in the browser.

tafguy,
Somehow, it seemed to load now with Firefox. Review in those 2 pages sounds real good.

Good to hear you made it. I was kind of surprised that you were not able to load it with Firefox. There is no way I'm going back with IE. Mozilla Firefox is the only and only browser I use because it is so fast, so light and so user-friendly besides beeing more secure. This is a must read review for someone who is currently looking to purchase an affordable powerful HTiB system.

Too bad we can't read the whole review from the sample issue. But from what it said, there, it sounds pretty positive. The only thing with Firefox is that some of the Extensions are kind of iffy, and one tends to overload the browser with extensions. But otherwise, IE stays off except for some MSNBC sites (like I wouldn't be expecting it), and some of my company's internal pages, where they insist on developing in MS Java.
