I watched U-571 last night. The scene# 16 at the end (the one in which the the camera is under the submarine) had some real heavy bass. My STF-2 vibrated mildly. Is this an issue?

Otherwise, the explosions were AWESOME. Good workout for the sub. (I haven't calibrated my sub and the speakers yet, but still AMAZING ground breaking bass...)

The other day, I tested the infamous "Darla tapping the fish tank" scene and checked if there were any rattles heard (old production issue with the STF-2)
But I couldn't hear none.

Am thinking that vibration is quite normal.
Any inputs, guys??

thanks

What I meant by "mild vibration" was a small rattle that can be heard from the subwoofer...

Rattle could be coming from setting sub volume too high, specially if you haven't calibrated the sub. What is the current volume setting on the sub?

Below is an old thread about rattle on an STF-1, you want may to read to see if the problem is related to what you currently encounter.

Try to verify that it is actually coming from the subwoofer. I have had similar rattles that turned out to be nearby items that were vibrating. Among other things, the glass globe on some wall sconces was vibrating.

Also make sure to calibrate the sub. If it is a little bit too hot it could make some unwanted sounds.
