Hi all -

Am new to the forum, so apologies if I've hit on a frequent/overworked topic...

Am considering a Hsu sub purchase in the near future, but am wondering if (like Vandersteen's write-ups (I had two 2Wq's in the recent past)) using two subs is a good idea for countering phase issues (i.e., subsonics needing placement for recordings with distinct imaging (orchestral, etc.)) OR for eliminating standing waves, etc. Maybe two VTF-2's vs. one VTF-3 (as $ is an issue)? My current room is about 18'x25'x8', with a doorway in one corner (by LH main speaker leading up a staircase, if that matters to your judgement/opinion(s)...

Thanks for your input!

The two subs should be in the same corner. Trying to eliminate phase with two subs usually causes more problems than it solves. Its kind of complicated to describe, but because of the varying length of the waves, say 20-40 feet, two subs placed in different areas of the room will cancel eachother out at unexpected frequencies and cause dips and relative peaks.
