I have the Onkyo feeding two HB1 speakers. It is a Dolby Pro Logic receiver with only a pre-out for sub connection. I do not have surround or center channel speakers. I have some questions about how to connect the sub:
From the manual: "Run a stereo RCA interconnect from your PRE-OUT to the left and right inputs on the subwoofer." But, elsewhere on this forum I read that I should connect to just one input on the sub. What is the right connection?
From the manual:"your center channel must be switched to NORMAL." The options for the center channel on the Onkyo are NONE or SMALL. I do not have a center channel speaker. What option should I choose?
I have the left and right channels set to SMALL on the Onkyo. Is this the right thing to do?
I have the crossover set at 80 on the Onkyo (there is no 90Hz option, but there is a 100Hz option) and the VTF2. I am guessing that the in/out switch on the sub controls whether the sub crossover is on or off (in=on, out=off). Is this correct? When it is switched to out, I hear a hum, which is not there when it is switched to in? What is the right setting for the crossover in this situation? How about setting the Onkyo crossover to 100, VTF2 crossover to 90, and the crossover switch to in?Best,
M
