I like to know owners that have the Ventriloquist + STF-2 Package think of there setup?
I am considering getting one, but I am little concernd on there sat's. My theater room is little over 17' x 13', but viewing area is only 13'x10'.
I am sure that the STF-2 is the real deal as the sub, but the sats. I used to own some Athena Point5 setup. Will these sats be in the same ball park? Thanks to all the can give me some feedback.

The sats will be fine. They will be plenty loud - at least comparable to the .5. You will have no problem filling that room. I have the exact same setup in a larger room and it gets very loud.
Of course sound quality is excellent as well.

Thanks Dudley.
So with this setup, there really is no reason why I would need to go to either a 6.1 or 7.1 setup.
Also I see that some people really like the way the VT12 sounds with Onkyo.
But how about Harman Kardon, Denon, Marantz or Yamahas?
Does anyone here own any of these other a/v receivers??If so how you likeY?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions, but I am really leaning towards the package, but are worried that these little SATs might not be as good as I expect them to be. :)
Again, Thanks 4 all input.

The VT12 is 6.1, so you are there already.
I have Onkyo, but the others you mentioned should be fine. The HK's are gorgeous and Denon seems to be popular as is Yamaha. Never seen a Marantz in person.
I would go by price and features. Flexible bass management with a good crossover is nice to have. I think that is what HSU likes about the Onkyo.

Dudley. Seems that you are very helpfull. Thanks a bunch. Now the last question.
Would a Onkyo SR602 be an overkill for the VT12 setup?

I use a SR600, so I don't really think a 602 would be overkill. Of course the SR503 would be fine as well - you lose a little power and some features. You can get a refurbished 602 for about $250 at JandR right now, and I have seen the SR503 for well under $200.
I bought the 600 because it was the least expensive 6.1 reciever Onkyo had. If I were buying today I would give the 503 some serious thought as it is now 7.1 just like the 602.
The 602 does have a few more inputs/outputs, a few more watts and has a zone 2 as well as automatic calibration.

I would agree that the center channel VT12 rivals or exceeds the Point5's center, but I am still not sure that the 2 1/2" drivers on the VT12 front and rear channels compares to the 4" drivers on the Point5 system. The system specs on both the VT12 and the Point5s suggest an 80Hz-20kHz frequency response. There is some magic with the ventriloquist effect, but one wonders how these sats get down to between 80Hz and 100Hz. Remember, many people like to knock on the Bose cubes' 2 1/2" driver because of the lack of frequency response; granted, the center channel also has the 2 1/2" driver and the cones in them are made of paper (see link):

Certainly, the HSU subs blow any Athena offered or Point5 combo sub out of the water.
