I am thinking of getting a VTF-3 MKII, but there is a VTF-3R rosewood for sale for $600. I understand that this is the same as VTF-3 MKI.

What are the differences between MKI and MKII? I know that the amp is different and I hear conflicting opinions about which amp is better. Are there any other differences?

My room size is 14.5'X8'X20'. Any other sub recommendations for 75/25 HT/music?

Thanks.

Ravi

The new amp has much more peak power, which translates into a more dynamic presentation.....especially at higher volumes. In your room, either would be fine.

Dear Ravi,

Curtis is correct, probably the most notable difference is the use of a new amplifier which has much higher peak amplifier power in particular, in addition to higher RMS power. Improvements are also always ongoing with the driver too.

That said, at that great price for a VTF-3 Mk1 in rosewood, I would not hesitate to go for it!

Sincerely,
