I got a copy of the Guiness Book of World Records at Christmas, and it occurred to me that if the world's biggest ball of string can make it in there, then the world's biggest subwoofer surely could! Have you guys experimented with extremely large enclosures? How about tube the length of a football field? Convert an abandoned mine into an "earth sub"?

One guy converted his basement into a "BASS-ment" that feeds the sound to their listening room. ;)
This site is incredible:

They made a type of bass horn that can get really loud. Bass horns usually are not feasable because they must be VERY big to really work. The length of the soundwaves is over 50 feet, so the horn must be the size of a small swimming pool.
I have a feeling these guys were aiming for sound quality, not just high output. The horn could allow the woofers to work less, if made correctly.
If we could only find a freight company to deliver BASS-ments like these, we'd make a fortune! ;)
