Questions re: VTF-3HO w/wo turbocharger

I have put the following questions to Hsu Sales in the form of an e-mail:

I currently own a Hsu VTF-3 MK2 and I love it. I’ve only now begun to read about the new VTF-3HO w/ turbocharger and I’m thinking of the latter model for a different room. I have a few questions.



Is there any information regarding the specs of the 3HO w/without the turbocharger?
What differences are there, in terms of specs and subjective listening reviews, amongst the VTF-3 MK2, the VTF-3HO, and the VTF-3HO w/ turbocharger?
Can the “turbocharger” be added to the VTF-3 MK2, or is it only for the VTF-3HO?
Is the $100.00 discount still available for preorders on the VTF-3HO with/without the turbocharger (I know that Peter Marks wrote in 12/2004 that “Preorder pricing will be effective on all VTF-3HO preorders made through 12/31/2005,” but I’m just checking.
Any answers to the above questions will be appreciated.

Due to the heavy demand for the VTF-3HO, the pre-order period has been extended until at least 1/15/2006 and perhaps until 1/31/2006.

Yeah Peter better get on the ball in editing his post, because preorder is extended, i hope until end of this month.

How come some of you know about this extension? I haven't seen anything on the forum regarding this. How does anyone get word of this?

I found out about the extension from a very nice man at HSU. His name might be Alan. I had called to discuss placing a pre-order, and I was told that due to the heavy demand, the first shipment had been sold out and therefore, a decision had been made to extend the pre-order period.

Of course, I defer to Peter Marcks for official comment :) .

Hmmm... a direct quote from the Australian site here...

"Finally we have received notice that VTF-3 HO production has started.
Actual shipping is now confirmed for March 2006."

Does that mean they will ship to North America in March or does it mean Australia will be shipping in March? I'm assuming North America is still on track for earlier shipping than March?

My guess is they are going to fill the North America orders first, and then start supplying Australia.

Hmmm...I got my preorder confirmed October 19. While I have a order number 0500# , I can't tell where that puts me on the list except somewhere between the two of you guys...

i was told i was 4th on the list but who knows. all i do know is that i'm on the first shipment with the turbo! picked up the velodyne SMS-1 which i'm excited to see with the vtf3-ho

FYI, I dropped a note to the order department yesterday and was promptly advised my preorder 05001 is supposed to ship with the first batch around the middle of this month. I'm sure they can give anyone else salivating with anticipation a good idea of expected ship date based on your preorder # as well.

Do your Netflix orders early and do not forget to warn the neighbors.

I am pretty sure some of the hardcores beat me to it from some of the initial "I got mine" posts right after the announcement inviting pre-orders...however, I am only a few hundred miles north of SoCal, so my Fedex delivery might be a bit ahead of a lot of those neither here in the fog or in down in the smog.

None of us have seen a Craigsub posting lately, so I'm wondering if he cut a backdoor deal with the Doc to get an early delivery by promising a consumer review to accompany the shipping announcement...how 'bout it Craig? Holding out on us?

Nope, it's not for the turbos. I ordered on HO with a turbo and got only a single number.

Then again; since Craig is going to be doing testing, the 2nd number is for the dual intercoolers , matching baby moons and pin striping. Word is that this model will do a 1/4 Herz in 3 cycles.
