I need help picking out a sub and its placement. I have attached the room layout.

I dont know if I should take the dining area into account since its an open layout, even the kitchen has 4 ft walls so maybe that falls into play as well?
This is what I have for speakers and receiver. Thanks in advance.

Yamaha RX-Z1
Klipsch KLF-C7 center
Klipsch KLF-20 front speakers

I was thinking VTF1?

I would consider the dining room in the same area, after all, the subwoofer has to pressurize all of that space. I would step up to the VTF2 or 3. Get a VTF3 if you want to leave no doubt, it will take care of that area fine. The VTF1 might do ok though, depending on its placement and your seating position.

Hi BulletHead,

We still have the VTF-1 Espresso available...

How high are your ceilings? Assuming that they are not super high, then VTF-1 should do a fine job in that space.

Have no fear Bullethead, the VTF-1 will easily fill that space. I would place the subwoofer in the front right hand corner of the room.

my system is actually located on the wall next to the closet. what would be ideal placement? near the closet door? in the corner?
