Love my subwoofer. Dark Knight sounds great and so does music.

When i listen to music in my car vs my home, the bass is totally different. When I'm in my car, the bass hits hard but not as clean. How can I get the VTF3.3 to hit harder? Still very noobish to tuning. I'm guessing i will have to dive into advanced tuning at the amp?

Thanks

I think in max output mode the bass is a bit punchier. Plus, you could always EQ the bass to get the slam you are looking for.

is this only done on the amp eq?

To EQ the bass, you would have to do that on a receiver, if the receiver has that capability. Or you could use a separate equalizer. It would also be done using a pre-amp, if you are using one of those. If the sub is being used with a computer, you could download a EQ program to affect output that way. I am using a 250 band EQ with winamp, and I have my bass right where I want it.

SVS (http://www.svsound.com/products-parts-subeq.cfm#) and Velodyne (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204049495&listingid=10812077) both make equalizers specific to subwoofers, but those are fairly pricey. Behringer (http://www.parts-express.com//pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=248-657) and Elemental Designs (http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_123&products_id=657) make some supposedly good ones too, and they are much less expensive. As you can see, I have linked to those Equalizers. Check your receiver's bass management first, there may be a way to get the sound where you want it there instead of having to resort using a seperate EQ.

I was tinkering witht the receiver last night Pioneer 1018

The only solution I found was to change the preset eq modes
