I just purchased the ventriloquist and the VFT-2. I have four additional rooms with in ceiling speakers. I would like to get a receiver that has multi-zone capabilities. The one I am considering is the Onkyo TX-703 for ~$600. Any thoughts on this or other receivers in this price level with multi-zone capabilities?
Thanks for your help.

There should be several for you to look at. I use HK.

Another vote for HK. JR.com has the AVR435 for $499.99 with free ground shipping right now.

If you're looking at spending $600 for the Onkyo, try the HK AVR635 at $650 (jr.com) Not only multi zone capable, but it comes with a multi-zone remote and A-Bus ports for multi-room source selection and amplification. On top of that, the 635 will upconvert composite and S-Video so that you can watch all sources through one Component cable.

Another vote for the HK 635 or the 435.
While it takes time to master all the different programs from the remote, once you do it's very simple and fast.
When looking at power rattings, HK and Onkyo are very conservative. You can usualy add 5% more wattage than is listed for those 2, while many others fall 50% short of there published wattage.( before clipping)
One such published watt per channel reciever had advertised 110 WPC. It actualy was 35 WPC before clipping.
It's reasurring to know that when you buy there recievers your getting more than there published rattings.
Same with Hsu subs.

I like my HK 435 a lot. When I move away from it it'll probably be to one of the new analog or digital switching amps. I see it has come down in price as well, very nice.

Yeah. I was going to buy the AVR2005 but it had less power and fewer inputs, plus no EzEq. So the 635 was for me. Too bad really, since the size was smaller and heat wouldn't be so much of an issue.
