I am expecting delivery of my new STF 2 in the very near future
(purchased last night) and I want to run a dual sub set up with my current Velodyne VA907 connected to my center channel speaker. As I see it, the STF 2 will work as an independent system sub with a sub cable from my Marantz 7400 receiver and the Velodyne should only operate on the center channel. After reading all the threads relative to stacking subs, should I follow that rule or perhaps adjust and test for best location? I want to augment the center channel with more low end since the velodyne sub is weak as a sub, but I think it should be just right to help the center channel?
My system is comprised of the following attributes:
I am running Cambridge Movieworks as small mains hung on the wall, a Yamaha 3 driver center channel, and Cambridge 5.1 surrounds in Dipole mode mounted on the ceiling and aimed down toward the the seating area. We have a Pioneer plasma DSP 43 mounted on the wall.
I have bamboo wood floors over concrete slab and will be placing the subs on a pad. I have pair of Polk RTa 11tl's I would love to use as front speakers, but the wife and two fetus parasites contained within have already driven that point home...:)
I would love to hear from those of you with more experience and insight on my plans for the Hsu STF 2.
