Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. Will be getting the vtf2 very soon.
Just a question regarding subwoofer cables. I was wondering if it is worth paying $$$ for a brand name subwoofer cables like Tara labs,, QED, Monster cables, etc , or can I just go with normal plastic rca cables which can get from Kmart ,target .
The main concern is will I be able to hear the different in sound quality and is it worth the price?

IMHO not worth it. A decent sheilded RCA cable will be fine.

When faced with what speaker connections to use I decided to try the home brew method and took 12 g solid copper wire with hard plastic insulation ie outdoor insulated (available for pennies a foot at any hardware store), doubled twisted the length of the run (allow about 20% for lost length due to the twisting), and applied my gold plated terminals of choice at each end (radio shack). Well, my previous speaker wire of $3/foot now was seen to mask the transients and the veil was lifted. Total cost: two sore thumbs and about $18 in parts.
(interconnects :rhino cable standard, preamp: acurus act 3, amp: carver x850, speakers: sequerra pyramid t 7/8/9.)
Give it a try.

A standard shielded coaxial will work. I prefer pro-audio stuff available at pro-audio shops (shops that sell guitars, drums, keyboards, etc) because it usually is made for people who's living depends on their cable and usually has heavy-duty construction. Consider a brand such as HOSA cables, because they come in a tough protective coating and are built to be reliable.
