View Full Version : To Buy A VTF-2 Now Or Wait That is The Question

I came to the HSU site today to happily buy a new VTF-2 when I stumbled upon this forum. I am now confused as to whether I should buy a VTF-2 or wait for the new VTF-2 (if there is going to be one) or to buy a sub in the STF series. The last thing I want to do is buy the VTF-2 only to find out a month or 2 later that there is new sub waiting to be released (I am a patient person and have my HT addiction in check) with better price/performance then the VTF-2.
So my question is, should I pull the trigger on the purchase of the VTF-2 or wait a month or so? Advice from all is welcome and if Sasha could give me the company line I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Greg

The Company line is:
Don't wait, buy it now! The VTF-2 is already a proven item, and it is already at a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, rumors are spreading and our customers are such good researchers that you are not alone. A number of people are waiting. Our only official news is about the new STF line, which is due the end of October.
The bottom line is, whichever route you take, you will have a great product.

I have both the VTF-2 and VTF-3 and even after a few years of use you simply can not help but be impressed with the whole VTF series. The STF series also will "no doubt" come in above most people's expectations when it "finally ships".
But as a VTF-2 owner of three years, all I can say is if you want a great subwoofer today, then a VTF-2 will not disappoint. Rest assured, that it is the value for its performance, and not the normal sales hype, that has made the VTF-2 such a great subwoofer.

Thank you both for your feedback, I just received my VTF-2 this weekend and the only word that can describe my reaction to your product is …WOW! I find myself rediscovering my music and movie collection due to the added dimension your product has added to my listening room. I am very impressed with your products ability to produce low-end bass that blends seamlessly within my listening room’s sound field.
You can count me as another satisfied HSU customer, thanks again.

If indeed the STF 12" has the same sonic quality as the VTF3, of-course the answer is wait..
