Hey guys just checking in its been a few months since I have posted, with 90 degree weather I don't play much in the house. I just looked at a movie on my system and the twins are still sounding fantastic I am glad to see that they have not been discontinued. Any word on the turbo's and the VTF-3 MkII's on sound quality.

Welcome Back Keith!
Our friend Legairre has just what you are looking for, using a turbocharger that he picked up on Ebay!

Not for sale yet Keith, but I would think they will be for sale within the next 1-3 months. I am a big fan of the turbocharger concept, because it allows us to substantially boost performance without requiring that the consumer purchase a much larger subwoofer that will be heavier and occupy more floorspace. Without turbocharger, one would need DUAL VTF-3 MK2/HO in order to approach the low-turbulence air-moving capability of a single VTF-3 MK2/HO with Turbo at 18/16Hz while in extended bass mode!

Welcome back Keith,
I've had the turbo on my VTF-3 MK2 for a while now and I'm really enjoying it. The real benefit the turbo is providing(for me at least) is around the 16-18 Hz range. In the lower ranges the turbo is giving more kick than the MK2 without the turbo while it also gives around 3 or 4 dB more headroom too(depending on the movie). One movie that shows off the turbo is Matrix Revolutions, there's all kinds of low bass in this one that really shows the strengths of the turbo. For instance there's a scene at the end where a huge water ball explodes with bass that has been plotted down to 5Hz and and you FEEL the shock wave more than actually hear it. With the VTF-3 MK2 you get a nice kick in the seat of your pants, but with the Turbo attached you can not only get the kick in the seat of your pants, but you can also feel the wave going through you and you can hear and feel the room pressurize. It's pretty cool because the room gets kind of quiet and with the turbo attached you hear the walls creak from the pressure a lot more than they do without the turbo. The only time I felt this scene like this was when I had dual VTF-3 MK2 subs and while the turbo doesn't quite match the dual subs it's pretty darn close and almost makes up for not having the second sub. While the MK can't play lower than around 16Hz the turbo really comes to life with movies with low bass and is a nice addition to the sub especially since it's been rumored to go for around $200.
Hey Peter if you sell me a turbo I'll buy another MK2 on the spot. Come on sell me one now, pleeeeeesssee.
Seriously if I can't have one now I will definately be buying another MK2 and turbo as soon as it's availabe. Dual MK2 + turbos will be all I need in my 13x24 theater. Actually there more than I need, but I can never have to much headroom.
