So what are the differences between this sub and the VTF3-mk2?

They are claiming 112db at 18hz. Hard to believe. My VTF3-mk2 hits 105dB max before I can hear distortion at 20hz. They must be measureing 1 inch from the port.

Let's see. One port plugged. Custom EQ. Room gain. Near field measurement. The Outlaw is probably a newer design than the MK II. Perhaps Dr. Hsu has come up with a few refinements after working with the VTF-3HO that help the Outlaw. Certainly an impressive spec though.

Good evening xcjago!

It is my understanding that the LFM-1+ is similar in performance and features as the VTF-3 MK2, with some touches of their own (such as downfiring ports, plexiglass top finish, handles on the port plugs, black feet, etc).

By all accounts, Outlaw had a very impressive demo with some LFM-1+ at the Home Entertainment Expo in June. I visited their booth, but unfortunately missed the demo, but everyone from their booth was very friendly and had great and kind things to say about us!
