Pre-order on the HO has been discontinued

Just spoke to Allen at HSU. He said the pre-order was discontinued some time ago. Shouldn't this information get posted here?

No, it means no more $100 discount on the HO. You can still order them at regular price.

I emailed sales@hsuresearch.com and was told that the preorder discount ended in January. It's kind of strange considering Hsu is technically still taking preorders. You can't order it off the site yet, and there is a waiting list.

I'm not sure David...but I think we'll stick with the discounted price for VTF-3 HO throughout the holiday season, so you've got some time left to decide. Also, we don't charge people until the unit ships.

Yeah, the comment about it ending in Jan has to be way off - I'm certain people have ordered with the pre-order discount up until pretty recently.

Yes, some serious communication issues for sure :( I'm pushing for a discounted price at least for the next month or two (which would be fine, because we have only been able to ship the first batch of intial "preorders" so far, and other people on the waiting list have not been charged, I think :) ). I'll have to let you all know later this week when we straighten things out.

OK, this miscommunication issue has got me concerned enough to get some sighted help to assist me in registering for the forum.

I got my upgrade money in order a couple weeks after it was posted here that the dicount was still in effect. I emailled a question about the price to orders@hsuresearch.com, and was told that the preorder program stopped in January. I called in my order prepared to ask if the discount was indeed over. The kind lady who took my order told me the price right away and stated the discounted price. I was told that a VTF-3 HO plus Turbo would run $899 plus shipping, and the shipping quote was as PPeter had posted, no lonher the half rate. This was as I expected and was planning for.

Now, all of this discussion has me concerned. Will I get the price quoted, or will I get a bad surprise when my order ships? I placed my order about two weeks ago. The fact is that the full price is a great deal, but since I was quoted the discount, I had planned on getting it.

So far, the service I have gotten has been great, it just seems there is some kind of communication breakdown going on.

I was also wondering if I would be assigned an order number before my order ships. I was told that November would be the earliest I could expect my order, which is fine, but I would like to have a order number to refer to and a confirmation that could reassure me about the price.

Finally, the post about the missing power cord got me thinking, is there anywhere where we can get a checklist of what should be in our boxes when we get them? The cord would be obvious, but a "what's in the box" list would be nice.

Please don't get the impression from my first post that I am in any way finding my experience negative. I have been wanting a Hsu sub since about '98 or so, and am very excited. I just want to be sure about everything. Wish I could go and push the boat along faster with the next shipment! Also am waiting very avidly for info on the MBM-12 preorder program.

I think that as long as there are none available in stock right now, there should still be a preorder price. I mean, anyone who orders now has to wait at least two months to get one. There should be a discount.

I ordered in July and just confirmed by telephone that they will still be offering the discounted price while they are filling preorders. The half-off shipping was only offered for a short time and was discontinued a long while back. I was told that my July order would not receive the shipping discount. Hope this helps.

As far as getting my hands on one, it still looks like November or December at the earliest.

I received my HO yesterday. My "whats in the box" includes two manuals, power cord, test cd, and a free HSU t-shirt. Oh yeah, one very large subwoofer too! It came double boxed and was very well packed. No problems at all with the delivery.
