Hey Guys-- I bought the VT-12's and the STF-2, now I need to get some more advice regarding the direction to go with the speaker wire and additional hookups.

What am I going to need to get these hooked up to my Yamaha receiver?

Where is the best place to purchase affordable/discounted speaker wire?

Thanks for all the help!!

AJBSPEAKI have about 3k worth of speakers in my home theater and used in wall grade speaker wire from Home Depot. No one has ever proved to my satisfaction that spending more would improve what I hear.

A coworker/friend (a true audiophile - he is - more so than I), came across this nifty DIY: http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/diycables.html

It's a fantastic idea, because you basically make good, roughly 14 AWG, speaker cable using solid core CAT5 (standard Ethernet) cable. Price per foot is cheap, and this is not very difficult. I recently bought the following for this:

http://www.amazon.com/500ft-Grey-Cat5e-350mhz-Solid/dp/B000067RWR/sr=8-4/qid=1164913831/ref=pd_bbs_4/103-9355094-9846216?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

If the link above doesn't work, just enter "500ft Grey Box Cat5e 350mhz Solid Pvc" (by Cables To Go) on Amazon. It was only $44 when I bought, but now it's $53. I think this is still the best deal I found, after looking everywhere I could think of: Black Box, Froogle, Radio Shack, Parts Express, etc.

Good luck ;)
