I just received my VTF-3 mk3 and this thing is a beast.:) I'm contemplating on purchasing either the Subdude or the Gramma to keep the neighbors at bay. The Subdude with dimensions of 15" X 15" X 2.5" will fit in between the rubber feet of the VTF-3 and only add about an inch to the total height of the subwoofer. The GRAMMA, on the other hand, is pretty much the same width and depth of the sub. With dimensions of 23" X 15" X 2.75", the rubber feet of the VTF-3 will just make it on top of the platform but add 2.75"(1.25" feet removed) to the total height. I could remove the feet but would prefer not to. I'd like to keep the height of the sub to a minimum and that's where the Subdude wins in comparison as I wouldn't have to remove the rubber feet off the VTF-3. My fear is that with it's small footprint, the sub might be prone to tipping although that's probably a remote possibility as it weighs 90lbs. Any recommendations? Price is the same on both so that's not a factor.

I have a 3.3 and a Gramma. I left the feet on and it's fine.

I too have a 3.3 and just moved from a house (volume not an issue) to a 3rd floor apartment. Since then I have been paranoid about playing music/movies too loud because of transferring rattling through the floor and walls. Can anyone chime in on the effectiveness of these in allowing you to play at higher levels with less disturbance? Thanks.

So I bought the Gramma and it has definitely made a difference. The floor and walls shake less and the bass seems cleaner. The 3.3 is so powerful though that even with an isolation platform such as this, it will pi$$ off your neighbors when turned up high enough. I will absolutely recommend the Gramma even if you own a home and aren't concerned with your neighbors. Living in a townhouse with hardwood floors this was a necessity for me. I took the rubber feet off because Gramma adds 2.75" to an already fairly tall VTF-3.3. I used a near-field placement to further reduce listening volume until I finish the basement and move the HT there.

I have heard subdude's and gramma pads mentioned in posts before. I was wondering if one might solve a problem I'm having. I live in a single level apartment building with a very thin carpet with basically concrete underneath it. On a wall on the opposite side of my listening area there is a closet that rattles during scenes with deep bass. The closet has two sets of doors that rattle no matter what I do. I just can't seem to get rid of it. The closet is about 17 feet away from my sub. I don't think that concrete underneath the carpet helps Would a subdude or a gramma pad help reduce room effects?

Getting rid of rattles in hte room can be challenging. You can try using some sticky tack along the closet door to see if that helps reduce the rattling.
