As the proud owner of both a VTF-3 (main HT system) and VTF-2 (Bedroom HT system) I'd like to ask the following. When is HSU going to come up with the following:

1. A calibration "Rabos" type system to help us "non-rocket scientist types" with less than perfect rooms easily setup our subs to blend with our mains.

2. A remote control so we can adjust volume on our subs WITHOUT having to jump up and reach behind when a particularly bass heavy or bass lite track comes on.

I'm willing to sell my VTF-3 tomorrow for a new HSU that'll do all of that. I know there are subs out there now that do all of the above, but I'm a HSU man. I'd rather beg you than switch.

Most newer receivers have remote-controlled subwoofer gain level capabilities.

I have an old analog amp, so like you I've got to take a little walk and do the reach-around to adjust the gain on the sub.

It is rather annoying that sub-bass levels vary dramatically from one program to another.

Or even have a way to have the volume control on the side or front. Being in the back is indeed a pain in the backside.

Well worth the trouble for that sweet, sweet bass though.

1. We are thinking of ways to make an easy to use EQ system. There are still some tricky issues with EQ that bothers us. One such issue is that current EQ systems mainly work for the sweet spot, and if there are multiple listeners the EQ breaks down. The other listeners will probably get WORSE sound than if there were no EQ. So, its a question of autocratic listening vs. democratic listening.

2) This seems like a great idea. I wonder what other features people would want on the front. I've put a poll up here to help answer the question:
