I was just surfing the web and reading random things about Hsu subwoofers while I decide which one to buy. :D Well, I came across this guy who found a very clever solution to keeping TN speakers from tipping over, and adding a little mass to the design at the same time. Check it out:

If it were me I would have got some nicer stone to do the job with, like a thin slab of granite or marble.....but hope people find this useful.

Thanks,
JP

This was discussed in the old Hsu forum at Harmonic Discord.

Hsu was suppose to come out with a wooden piece that goes between the driver and tube in which it hold the spikes, allowing the driver to face downward. That never came out.

The new TNX was suppose to resolve this issue with some mount that holds the driver side at the bottom.

There are several simple solutions to the TNs vibrating on the floor at loud volume levels (this is a hard floor issue):

1) Put the TN on a throw rug
2) Put the TN on its side on a piece of carpet or throw rug
3) Use a throw rug and put some bean bags inside the tube to weigh it down.

We still are developing a new version of the TNs that will solve this issue.

Any plans to bring out smaller sized TNX subwoofers?

I don't think Dr. Hsu plans on making them smaller.
