doobie

Hi all,
I have a few HSU subs in my system, and I have a question about my LFE sub; a VTF-2 MKII.
I'd like to know from all those people running their HSU's in the 'behind the listening seat' position. For those of you who have your subs setup in this position (and the sub is your LFE sub) how 'hot' do you run the sub?
I'm struggling to find a happy medium. I've read a few places that say between 4 and 5db higher than the standard 75db on the spl meter is about right. For me, often 4db seems a little bit loud and the subwoofer is just a bit too loud and noticeable. However on the flip side, the HSU recommended 3db 'hot' for me sounds too quiet.. kind of, unremarkable. At 3db hotter I always feel like I just need some more punch. Like the effects just don't feel really solid.... they should be kicking you in the guts but they're not. Good... but just not remarkable, as I'm typically used to with HSU subs.
Do other people using the 'behind the listening seat' position find this? Or is it just me? How 'hot' do you run your LFE sub 'behind the listening seat'? Any 'magic' numbers? =)
Cheers
Andrew
