I thought I would start a thread that may help us all out, as we wait for the latest details on the Ventriloquist system and packages.
Sasha, please keep this thread updated with the current system price, package prices and configurations.
We had the 5 channel, now 6...price was $199 now $249...Oct1, Oct31 Nov 21st. OK. I can see there have been changes and I'm curious but don't NEED to know why. I just would like to have the most accurate information in ONE place on this website. I understand that you may not want to put up an "official" page for the V system yet, since things are still in flux...but we loyalists and the ones who stand ready with credit cards in hand would like a single place to go to get the latest info.
Unfortunately the delay has cost us the sale of 2 systems :( They just couldn't wait any longer. I hope I can have them in-home for Channukah!
Thank You
Mark Valade

Mark,
They have gone into production, so I can't forsee any more major changes. I'll post on the forum when there is news.

Here are pages from the Ventriloquist manual used in the first production run (note: these are LARGE files optimized for print, not the web, so each page can be over 1 MB in size! Downloads may take a while)

Sasha, do you have package pricing available for the Ventriloquist system with all the Hsu subs (or at least the STF subs)? If that hasn't been decided, do you have plans for package pricing?

do you have plans for package pricing?
We will offer the items individually, without package pricing but at everyday low prices. When you are on our site, you can get the Ventriloquist alone or with a sub.
It is imporant to know that some of our dealers will NOT be offering the Ventriloquist VT-12 6 channel set by itself--they will instead by packaging it with the STF-2. However, there will be no package pricing below the Factory Direct prices allowed.

I was in Anaheim last week to take the kids to Disneyland, and I had the opportunity to audition the Ventriloquist speakers. Wow! I was blown away. They sounded great. I had decided on the Paradigm Cinemas, but these speakers changed my mind. Now I can hardly wait for them to become available. (Of course I can't afford them, the sub and a receiver right now. I need to decide whether to wait until Christmas-time to get it all together, or forgo the sub until then.)
Thanks to Sasha for setting it up, to Dr. Hsu for giving the demo.

jwygal,
I too was able to get a demo of the Ventriloquist system (yesterday) at HSU headquarters in Anaheim. And yes... I too was simply amazed at the sound of this system for the price. Dr Hsu was very gracious and helpful. I really wish I could have heard the system with the STF subs line-up though... I guess I was about a week or two too early for that..?? I was most impressed when the good Dr. shut the center channel off, and I was able to hear what all other small satellite systems sound like with 2 channel music (extremely lacking). However, when he turned the center on to handle the upper lows and mids, it just all fell into place very very nicely, with a full range feel to the whole sound. What an incredible product I think! I keep holding my son off to purchase a small system for his apartment, as I think he will hold bragging rights if he can wait for the Ventriloquist..??
During my short visit I also "spotted" an extremely gorgeous and shiny "piano black" box. It looked very similar to the nice rosewood box they have too... :D What a GREAT move on HSU's part I think with this...
Anyway, I came away from there extremely impressed, and solidified in my mind I will be a customer of HSU's in the future!
Dave.

Sasha,
I have seen early pictures that showed Ventriloquist (or semblance of) speakers being front ported. Then when I visited Hsu Research the other day the prototype demos were not ported at all. Looking at the most recent pictures (that you took) I could find on this forum it "appears" the satellites may be "rear" ported..?? Can you clear this up for me? Will these speakers have a port on front or back? I was thinking of possibly flush wall mounting these, but....??
Thanks,
Dave.

Hi Dave,
Looking at the most recent pictures of the satellites, the rear of the speaker looks to have a "keyhole" for hanging the speaker. I'm pretty sure it is not a port
I had to take a close look on my monitor.
Hopefully Sasha will clear this up.

The Ventriloquist speakers are not ported but rather sealed. You can see this from the pictures. The Hsu subwoofers are ported.

Ported micro-speakers? Who would want a honking midrange? THe only ported units I know of are the Bose units, with what looks like a wrap-around port.

Yes, we decided not to port the small satellites. There were some earlier pictures showing ports. The center channel will have ports on the rear.
Good news! We are going to put up the product descriptions, photos, and all the specs next week. Finally, all the specs will be made public. We will be ready to start taking credit card payments on the Ventriloquist and the STF series. Its hard to believe it is finally starting.

Sasha,
Do you mean STF-2 or the whole STF line?
