I've got a pair of hrsw10's from late 1992 hooked up to a bass optimizer. I've attached a spec sheet from the original manual to refresh some memories. These are long paid for and are in great shape, but I can't help wondering if there would be a significant improvement on a cost/value ratio by upgrading. Which model would they compare to now? Are there any mods, like changing the drivers, that would make these perform substantially better?

If it turns out that a new sub blows these away, what do you the the market value of these are? They have the walnut tops.

Thanks

lowndes, I think you would find a noticeable improvement, especially with something like a VTF-3 Mk3 or HO. However, if you are very happy with the HRSW10's, then hang on to them!

You should be able to get at least $300-400 for the pair (not including amplifier) I would think. Just make sure to post some of the frequency response and maximum output specifications per the literature, as they are impressive even today!

Looks like Hsu was big on being a green mfg back then, with all the recycled components. Has Hsu been keeping green ever since the cylindrical days? Maybe having vacuum formed PE exterior instead of using virgin tree veneer?
