Hello folkes,
I am on the hunt for a new subwoofer since my 10 year old paradigm died. My room is about 1800cubic feet and i mostly watch movies with about 20% music. I was thinking about picking up a set of HSU bookselfs speakers down the road since my dad can not stop raving about his( the do sound great). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi buddy,

Does your room open to any other areas of the house? Do you have any particular budget and/or enclosure size constraints when it comes to a subwoofer system?

Thanks

Hi Pete, and thanks. My room does open up at the backend of it. I guess you could say the room is shaped like a "T" but it only widens by about 2 feet on either side. My budget is 700.00 so the logical choice would be the VTF-3 MK3. My only worry is that it would be too much sub and i would never really get to utilize it to its full potential. But I suppose thats what the volume nob is for
Thanks

Hi Buddy, I'd go with the VTF-3 MK3! I usually don't believe in overkill :) If anything, you will have lower distortion, higher headroom, and deeper bass response than a smaller and less powerful subwoofer.
