Although we don't have plans in the near future to add these things, we are wondering what features people would like on the front of a subwoofer. Keep in mind that the subwoofer would have an auto-on feature.

Where is the 'Nothing' option? I don't want anything on the front of a sub.

Why would one want a parametric EQ in the front? If there was to be one, I presume it would be set one and not to be touched again.

Its added to the poll. Not too many people have voted yet, so it won't ruin the results.

I guess thats means 'no' for the parametric EQ. ;)

Good options! I chose the "IR Sensor," but my second choice would definitely be the volume control. I haven't got quite used to it yet, but I can see myself changing the gain for movies and different genres of music.

I'd like to only see a small panel matched to the front or the trim...near the top with ALL the controls behind it. We do it on all other source components (connects in rear, controls in front). Now THAT would help my tweaking enjoyment ;) Of course, I'm thinking of the VTF series as opposed to STF. I wouldn't want anything on an STF model - save the IR sensor for the REMOTE CONTROL :)
Thanks for asking!
But I don't have those options on my TNs, so I have to use the remote for me pre/pro - so no worries.

I think the mode switch (20/25 hz) for the VTF series might be good, but that isn't one of the choices. Joe

I would like a Parametric EQ dials in front or back, IMHO the Parametricis EQ is the best tool in this options. Of corse, if the EQ is already included, my choose could be Volume knob or remote control that seens the better option, but would be good know how much each feacture will cost.

How about a shake-o-meter, in magnetude, with peak hold. This way one could tell how much of an earthquake feel we are encountering? Or a microphone that detects abnormal sound being picked up that is different from the input or output signal and lowers the subs volume when that happens. This is so that when the roof of the house is collapsing as a result of the sub reproducing the scene of a planet being annihilated by a 5 bazillion ton dylithium crystal bomb, it would lower itself and prevent further destruction to the house.

I like the small panel with controls behind idea.

No doubt having the sub with a remote and presets for memories of the inbuilt Parametric Eq would be a big bonus. I think the inbuilt parametric Eq is going to be a big thing for all subs. But having at least 5 filters avaliable is going to be of much more use than the typical 1 that your some of your opposing brands (most of them designed to be only good for special effects) are currently offering. Its clear that its pretty cheap to do an even auto no brainer mode like Velodyne do on the DD series.
When you look at the automatic setup and room analysing done with the Behringer DEQ parametric eq ..... it has 10 shelving filters, 1/6 oct RTA, 96kHz processing, digital in/out, 31-band graphic EQ

Its all avaliable for well under $300 on the street. Now imagine that in the VTF-3 MK2. For under $1000 inbuilt into the amp it would be kick a_s.
