Hi Sasha,
I have been using the vtf-3 for months and i'm very happy with it. Currently I want to change the interconnect cable the power cord for the subwoofer. Do you thik this will help to improve the performance (although it's good enough)? If so, do you have any recommendation?
Thanks,
Liu Xin

Liu,
When we think of interconnect, we think of how durable it is, how reliable it is, and how good the shielding is. We don't think that the interconnect makes a noticable difference in terms of sound quality (speaker wire is another story).
The power cord will make no difference whatsoever. The only difference could be if the "ground" on a power cable is not present, it can help improve the sound in some cases. The "ground", in the U.S., is the third prong. By eliminating the ground, you eliminate ground loop issues associated with improper wiring of the home, especially by cable TV and satellite dish contractors.
If you are serious about interconnect, I don't think you can get much better than the pro-audio interconnects used in most major studios: Beldin twisted pair cables, which go for around 30 cents a foot, is a good example of what we are talking about. I've been told by some pretty knowlegable people that the twisted pair reduces interferance. You can buy the interconnect by the foot and use RCA jacks found at parts express (partsexpress.com). I'm not sure if there is an online store selling Beldin.

Sasha,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Your advice is very helpful.
I recently I tried PS Audio Statement power cord ($500 cable) on my stereo integrate amp and it improve the sound tremendously (even my wife can easily tell the difference). Maybe for the subwoofer it's different.
Audiophle always wants more from the audio system;)
Thanks again!
Liu
