I had all but decided to pick up an accoustech h-100 for $245 plus shipping when I stumbled upon the stf-2 at 20% off. My room is 16x22X9 with hardwood floors and several openings. I use klipsch quintet satelites and a marantz 6300 receiver. I currently have a velodyne spl 1000 in the room. I am going to move it to the bedroom to finish out the setup I want. Nothing wrong with the velodyne. My wife did not want a huge sub "box" in the bedroom. The velodyne is very small which will make her reasonably happy. Will the stf-2 fit the bill for the space I described earlier? The H100 apparently is a very nice sub but for a few extra $ I think it might be wise to upgrade to the hsu. Any input on either sub or any of the above will be greatly appreciated

smhorton, how deep is your room? The STF-2 and VTF-1 I would typically recommend for rooms up to around 3000 ft^3, and yours is just a bit larger than that. However, if you place the subwoofer in the nearfield, you might get good results even in the relatively large room.

16 wide, 22 deep. When I built the house, I ran all the cable in the wall. I ran the sub cable to the right of av equipment in a corner. I thought that this would probably be my best bet.

smhorton, with your deep room, you would be a great candidate for nearfield positioning of the true subwoofer. I would recommend placing the true subwoofer either behind or next to the couch, and see how that works for you!
