Hi All -

I'm looking for a new sub for the home theater I'm upgrading but I'm not sure I need the VTF-2 or if I'd be ok with the STF-2. Which line is best for a HT only setup? If you use a VTF do you set it to max extension or max output for the best HT listening? I have a 13x13 room with 9' ceilings and no carpet (hardwood floors). Advice welcome! Thanks

For home theater I would definitely go with the VTF-2 MK-3. It is more powerful and goes deeper which is a plus for home theater. I set it to max extension for home theater. The sub plays deeper in that mode which makes home theater even better. But if budget is an issue you'd probably be fine with the STF-2. If budget is not an issue I would go with the VTF-2 and not look back.

That was the conclusion I came to too. I'm ordering a VTF2 today though I'm choking on the $600 it comes to after tax. Uck. Oh well - it will be a tremendous upgrade from the Cambridge Bass Cube 8 I've been using for years! I'm looking forward to getting it - thanks - M

With a VTF-1 in max extension is enough...but if you like bass like I do...A VTF-2 MK3, max output, in that space will be killler!!!!!!!!!!HAHAHA
