Just received my VTF-2 Mk3 yesterday. Did alot of research onlline for subs, and came to the conlusion that this was the one for me. There aren't any shops around that sell quality products so my decision was based off of everything that I could read.
I must say I'm very pleased. Can't say I've heard this type of bottom end in a home setup before. Transition from sub to my mains is very smooth. Very nice product you produce HSU.
Now I just have to get a replacement tweeter for my fronts, left one blew on me a while back, and can't seem to get a response from tech support for a replacement so looks like it's a go find something to match or come close and put it in

Hi mischmat, thank you for all the kind words about the VTF-2 MK3, I'm so happy that you are enjoying the subwoofer!
I remember seeing your email a few days ago, and responded to it. Did the response not come through? Please call us on Monday at 1-714-666-9260 (after 9am pacific time) to get the replacement driver.
Thanks

Just thought I'd chime in since I got my VTF-2 Mk 3 yesterday also! So far so good.. I only tested it to make sure it is working so I haven't really done any listening tests yet.
However, I wanted to say that dealing with Pete was an absolute pleasure. He was so helpful and also so pleasant and patient! With service like that plus the quality of the Hsu subs, why look anywhere else? I got the satin black finish and it looks gorgeous. (Pete - by the way, the bag with the cord and spikes hadn't fallen into the port, haha..).
I will write a review soon after I've had a chance to listen but I just wanted to say thanks to Pete, and that Hsu is a totally first-class operation!

Might be thinking of another customer. The Mk3 is the only HSU product I own atm. Fronts are a pair of Polk R50's.

Oh ok, I thought you may have had a ventriloquist system, and were waiting for a response from our tech support, but looks like you are waiting for a response from some other company about a totally different speaker, sorry about that :o

Yes, the sub arrived in perfect condition. Not a mark or dent on the box. Fed Ex treated it very kindly. One of the box handles tore when I picked it up, though. I guess you can't have everything! :D

Same here, everything ended up in perfect condition. Wish I could only say the same for the hardwood floors. Moved the sub and ended up making some marks. Guess that's what I get for moving it a few feet.

I have had my new VTF-2 for about two weeks and think it's the best thing I could have done to create a more realistic theater experience in my dedicated room. Never had bass experience like this. I have my unit set to just a touch above 9:00 and it still pretty much shakes things to the point when I go back upstairs I find things have been knocked off the wall or framed pictures have fallen off shelves. Not that this is a bad thing but I can't imagine what would happen if you turned this thing up past 50%. (Are we talking speaker damage of some sort.) I'm assuming this is how a great sub is supposed to work but why is it so powerful even at lower settings. Please keep in mind I'm pretty much in the dark about the physics of sound and bass etc. so I was just wondering about these things.

Same experience as Totoro.. my new VTF-2 is at around the same level (just a shade above 9:00) and the power is evident. Clean and tight bass and I was thinking if I turned it up I could really wreck the house, haha.. it's as powerful as Totoro's voice in the animated film of the same name!
Excellent sub.. I am glad I purchased it.

I second that. Gave it a bit of a workout today, and I can't ever say I've seen a floor standing lamp walk before. It's a first for me.
At about 9 o'clock as well and -3 to -5 on the sub control on the amp.
Oh, I keep on reading about a test cd that comes with the subs. Does it still get shipped with the product or is it now available for download? I double checked the packaging and don't seem to have it.

The cds are packaged with the packing invoice on the outside of the box. At least that is where the cds were on my Vtf-3's.

Thanks, Pontgranprix about pointing out where the CD is. I purchased the VTF-2 Mk 3 a couple of weeks ago and didn't receive the CD. I had an STF-2 before this and purchased the CD separately last year (since that model doesn't come with it) so when my CD was missing with the new sub, I didn't do anything about it. When I read your post I went out and checked my box, and there was the CD, with the invoice/packing slip! :D Thanks!

Just the invoice there on mine. Unless fedex had done something with it, cause the extra Tax invoice from the border crossing was also in with the HSU invoice, which wasn't paid until it hit the Can/US border. I'm assuming that the HSU invoice is sealed when it leaves the factory so FedEx would have had to open it up to put the tax invoice in with the HSU invoice.
