I can't find any posts about subwoofer cables on this forum what's the diffence between your $10.00 cable vs a cable that costs say$ 50.00 or more. Can test equipment tell the diffence between the two cables or just your wallet!!!:)

Tom Nousaine is one of the popular reviewers who has challenged the absurd costs of some interconnects (speaker wire is another issue). I would say that engineering types usually have an easier time accepting the lack of validity to the hyped up claims dealers and manufacturers have regarding interconnects.
Some of the finest recording studios use interconnects that cost 39 cents a foot. Beldin is one company that makes interconnect cable popular in recording studios. http://bwcecom.belden.com/ When browsing their catalog, they actually give specifications. I haven't seen another manufacturer that does.
Our cables work fine, but in general when it comes to interconnect, we just want a reliable, shielded, coaxial type cable. For those that apprecaite the "jewelry" like look of expensive interconnects, I say go do what makes you happy. Personally, I would prefer a rugged "pro-audio" type cable.
Speaker cable is another matter. Since the current is higher, thicker speaker cables are preferred over longer distances.

The reason for buying better cables is because they sound better, Sasha_G's intimations to the contrary in this thread and others notwithstanding. I've always run speaker cable into the high level inputs of the various subs I've had, so I can't speak to dedicated subwoofer interconnects specifically, but of the six IC changes I've made elsewhere in my system, all have sounded different. Whether your associated equipment is revealing enough to make a cable upgrade worthwhile is something that you'll have to determine yourself, by trying a better cable.

Try this site: http://www.auralthrillsaudio.com
I accidentally found this guy on the web, and EVERYTHING he says is true regarding the sound quality of cables and especially power cords. It shouldn't make a sonic difference, but it does; & the difference is not subtle, it is amazing! I suspect it is along the lines of the difference Hsu subs make compared to other subs.

Looked quicky at Aural Thirls hmmmm.
Some of them claims regarding power cord, sounds perhaps a bit far fetched? We are 240v 10amp std outlet here in Australia so I don't know if that makes any difference.
"They also work really well on computers. When you plug your computer in using my cord there will be a remarkable improvement in the sound of games. Fuller, Richer and much more dynamic. IT REALLY KICKS BUTT!"
This sound a bit like BS to me. The power source for components in a PC is usually a cheap as fan cooler transformer/power supply. This then feeds HD's, CD/DVD, Motherboard etc etc. Sound cards and the like get their power from the motherboard, which is first feed from the powersupply/transformer, sounds wakey to me that this magic cord is going to suddenly "improve" things this far down the line?
SOME topend graphics cards have a separate powerfeed to source power direct from the Power Supply/transformer (maybe some really high end sound cards do also?) But given most/all don't obviously given ATI for eg adds this to there graphics card simply shows that the power restriction is what the motherboard can supply.
While i can see perhaps some benfits in a "cleaner" power supply, i cannot really see any out right "power gains" given the house wiring is rated std at 240v 10amps 2400watts (Australia), you can improve all you want after this but this is the cable and circuit breakers cut off. Given one can run a mass of HT equipment off on outlet without tripping said circuit breaker there is obviously "power to spare"
On the topic of "clean power" this again seems silly in a PC, given it would produce more RFI and noise it self than any power feed to it.
Maybe i have no idea, i'd love test my computer and see how "amazed" i'll be :)

I've never tried the power cable on a computer; its never left my d/a converter! I've tried many tweaks over the years, but this one is truly amazing! I just sat there with mouth open; I couldn't believe it either. Every audio component I tried it on, had a MARKED improvement except my passive buffered preamp that is also my active crossover. I suspect that I heard less difference here because of the type of component it is, but on my big amps & home theater receiver, it is not subtle. Check the dude out; it's 30 days money back I believe, & he has a perfect rating on Audiogon & Ebay. I only brought this up in this forum because I can't wait to pair one of his cables with a Hsu sub. One last hint: look for his cables on Audiogon.com & ebay.com; you get much lower prices than on the web site.
