I apologise/recognize that this may be OT...TOTALLY rewiring my setup in honor of my "new" 500A. I need to get new interconnects that are inexpensive, but which are great quality.
I have Radio Shack cheapies, RCAs that came with computers...no two alike -- every kind of mutty, cheap, misfit RCA cable there is.
Not in the market for $400/meter Audiogon wackiness. Looking for something high-quality, but light on the pocket book...PLEEEEASE don't say "MonsterCable!" :) I think I will need 20 pr! :shudder:
Price will be the direct determinant of WAF.
Thanks, TB

what are you rewiring? why would you need 20? there are many cable companies, too many to mention.

I suggest Belken Pure AV silver series.

Rewiring an HT, man. Two pre-amps, various amps, 2 DVDs, VHS, TiVO, DirecTV, Tuner...20 may be a LITTLE high, but not VERY high.
Anyone know where the Hsu interconnects are located on the site, now? Don't see them anywhere.
Thanks, TB

you probably need different lengths...right?
Look at bluejeanscable.com and monoprice.com

I'd also include www.cablesforless.com
They appear to be similar to bluejeans.

BlueJeans make nice cables, but at $35 a throw...? I can't afford to lay down $700 on cables. And Hsu's seem to be only in a 20ft length. That's too long.
I got a good HDMI cable from an outfit called EMT. I wonder how they are for RCAs.
Certainly monoprice is a good suggestion. Thanks, all.

I bought a coax compression fitting tool and coax compression connectors like the cable and satellite installers use.
The compression RCA connectors are a little pricey, compression F connectors with F to RCA adapters are a little more cost effective.
Now I can make cables the exact length I need, and really spruce up the back of my equipment rack.
Shielded RG-6 makes a great interconnect.
I've purchased long HDMI cables and optical cables from monoprice. I haven't been disappointed.

These are economical and work well. I don't care for their HDMI cables though as I thought they were too stiff - but they may have a better option there too. Or you could try a 6 inch cable on the end, which is what I did for a friend when his HDMIs were so stiff they kept coming out of the XBR3.
Over the years I have done numerous controlled listening tests...With wire it is not hard at all to be "all done" as far as sound/image signal transfer goes. This can conflict with audiophile fun where nothing is ever "all done", ha!
