View Full Version : VTF-3 Mk3 input voltage limit?

Some owners of Audyssey enabled receivers have encountered issues where, as a result of the boosting Audyssey can does at bass frequencies, it causes clipping at the first stage of their sub's amplifier. Is there any such limit with the amplifier in the VTF-3 Mk3? For example, on my Denon receiver its sub preout line begins clipping at 6 volts peak. Obviously, this is quite a high value for a line level output. If the Hsu sub's amp begins clipping at less than this, I would like to know so I can configure my receiver to never reach its limit, even on worst case LFE content.

Thanks,
Bill

The VTF-3 MK3 amplifier should be able to take the full 6V peak without overloading its input (the sections before the volume control).

Thanks for taking the time to look this up. That's good news. I will adjust accordingly.
