We'll, the arrival date got pushed back till late November.
We got a few priority air shipped yesterday, and I was like a little kid opening the box. Keep in mind that that kind of shipping costs about the same as the product itself. Anyhow, I hope to offer everyone some pics on Thu.
They say "shipping [to customers] speaks louder than words", but they also say "a picture is worth a thousand words". I hope the new pictures on Thu. will satisfy the curiousity of people until we can finally get these babies out. Ugg, logistics can be such a pain.

Since we are getting close, when will those on the advance STF order list be getting an email stating it's time to buy?

Any more details on the STF subs? grade of vinyl veneer? Are the edges of the vinyl sheets smoothed out? Or any other info that is significant?

Any more details on the STF subs? grade of vinyl veneer? When you go into most big audio chains, such as Goodguys or Bransmart, or BestBuy, etc., almost all the subs use vinyl. The key is how well they apply the vinyl. Almost always, you see that they use a semi-rounded or angled edge on the top, and to apply the vinyl they cut each of the four corners and glue it down. This wasn't good enough for us, as our subs always have rounded edges that are truly round.
Our approach is different. The STF vinyl is wrapped around rounded edges with a vacuum, giving it a very high quality appearance and making it much more resistant to peeling off. The cut on the vinyl is on the back of the box, but it is done in such a way so that there the vinyl will not peel off.
Because we are using the vacuum, the top and bottom sheets of vinyl needed to be thicker than normal to keep the corners strong, so an heavier grade of vinyl was used for the entire top and bottom. This should come in handy if something on top of the sub somehow digs in.
It took us about a week to decide on the texture. It is not so rough as to give it an "industrial look", but not so smooth that fingerprints show up.
I guess the point in explaining all this is to show that there is a high attention to detail given in these new subs, so that everything would turn out correct.
I did take some snapshots last night, but unfortunately they didn't turn out very good because there was just the flash and very hard, harsh lighting. I see if anything is good enough to post.

For those that have asked to be notified when they are released, we will send out the emails once they are in our wherehouse.
