Hi Sub Fiends
I am about to start building my first real home theater am not sure what the issues are on sub sizing. Based on phenomenal reviews and the sizing advice on the website, I was all set to buy a VTF-1 for my future theater (~1300 ft3 opening into another 1300ft3 area). However, today I see an Outlaw LFM-1 on sale essentially the same price. This is a 12", 350W sub with Hsu design (3 year warranty though, not 7).
Now, I know that the FAQ says "there is no such thing as "too much" power in a sound system", but is there really no down-side to buying a larger sub? If not, I think I would be crazy not to get the Outlaw, given the price. What say you?
Note, I won't be listening anywhere near reference volume... I just want that Hsu thunder for my movies.
Thanks!
