In a room that size the VTF-2 MK-3 would do you just fine. It would be more than enough bass for you.

Go with the 3.3. Alsways go bigger and you will love the output.

I'm using the VTF-2 Mk 3 and 5 HB-1 Mk 2's (I opted for an HB-1 in the center instead of the HC-1). I think it's a great system. As for the VTF-2 versus a VTF-3, in my opinion for the size of your room, the VTF-2 ought to be plenty. My room is about 20 x 14 x 8 and opens out into the kitchen area. The VTF-2 is more than adequate - clean and accurate, and room-shakingly powerful. However, I should also add that if you aren't sure, then you should probably get the VTF-3 because otherwise you will never stop second guessing yourself if you don't. For me, the only space I could use for a sub would not accommodate a VTF-3 so the choice was made for me. After using it, however, I have no desire for a different sub - the VTF-2 is excellent and I don't really see how it could be any better with a VTF-3.

bigdolf, does your room open to any other areas of the house, and if so, what are the dimensions (HxWxD) of that space?
Thanks

I've read all the reviews on the hb-1mk2s, and they sound like they are amazing, I def think I'm going to order the 4hb1s and the hc1, with the vtf2, soon as I get the xtra $

I recommend placing the subwoofer in one of the front corners of the room. If possible or practical, try to add a second subwoofer at some point in the future to help smooth out the in-room frequency response.

Hi bigdolf, in my opinion I suggest you the VTF 2.3. No dought that will blend perfect with the HB and HC speakers.
Look into the HSU FAQ Getting started(room dimensions).
And like Pete said "If possible or practical, try to add a second subwoofer at some point in the future to help smooth out the in-room frequency response."
Good luck...:)

Sorry, I may have received the last two maple HB1-mk2's available. Unfortunately, HSU may be discontinuing the maple finish. That is too bad for me, as I also like the maple, and have a maple VTF3-mk3, maple HC1-mk2, and the two maple HB1-mk2s. I have to build my new HT one piece at time, and so I couldn't get a full 5.1 or 7.1 (as I want). I'm quickly trying to get my new entertainment center built so I can hook all of these up and get them calibrated. What I can tell you is that I have had my VTF3-mk3 for about a month or so, and that thing is amazing:D Which ever of the two subs you get, you will be thrilled.
