I have an old VTF-2 currently being repaired that I plan to use as a nearfield sub when it's up and running again. Does any one have any special hints for making this work ?
When you use a nearfield sub, what do you do with the distance settings on your pre/pro? Distance to your main subs, nearfield sub , or somewhere in between?

Hi koyaan,
For a unit placed nearfield, set the subwoofer distance setting on the receiver equal to the distance between the main listening position and the nearfield subwoofer. Try not to use a crossover frequency higher than ~ 80-90Hz to help minimize localization. Feel free to experiment with variable tuning settings.
I see from your previous post that you will be using an Outlaw LFM-1EX and a Velodyne 12" (DLS?) sub up front, with the VTF-2 in the nearfield.
Sincerely,
koyaan
